5–8 day turnaround. Firm in-hand date guaranteed.

How our turnaround works

Your in-hand date starts the clock from proof approval — not from when you place the order.

Once you approve your proof, standard production is 5–8 business days to anywhere in Australia and New Zealand. That’s a firm date, not an estimate.

Express available

If you have a hard deadline, tell us before you order. We’ll work backwards from your date — not the other way around.

Next-day delivery exists

We’ve done it. It requires lead time on our end, not yours — so the earlier you tell us your deadline, the more options we have.

Colour accuracy

Pantone-matched colour proofs are available on screen print orders. For colour-critical work, we provide Pantone references so there’s no ambiguity between your screen and the final garment.

The rule

Nothing goes to print without your written approval. What you approve is what you receive.

Custom Water Bottles and Drinkware: What to Order for Your Next Event

By Ray KowalskiSep 12, 2025

Branded drinkware is one of the most effective promotional products in Australia right now — and the category is broader than most buyers realise. From stainless steel insulated bottles to reusable coffee cups to event-specific options, the right choice depends on your audience, your budget, and how the product will actually be used.

Why drinkware works as event merch

Australians carry reusable drinkware constantly. The cultural shift away from single-use cups and bottles means a quality branded water bottle or keep cup isn't just a promotional item — it's a daily utility that goes to work, to the gym, and everywhere in between. That's the holy grail of promotional products: something your audience actually uses, repeatedly, in public.

The main drinkware categories

Insulated stainless steel water bottles are the premium end of the category. They keep drinks cold for 24 hours and hot for 12, they're durable, they look impressive, and they're the format that gets carried most consistently. Price point starts around $15–$20 at the budget end and $30–$50 for quality options like Camelbak or branded equivalents. The decoration options are laser engraving (clean, permanent, premium look) or pad printing (full colour, more prominent branding).

Reusable coffee cups (the keep cup format) are extremely popular in Australian workplace and corporate contexts. They're used daily by commuters and office workers. A quality reusable cup — glass or stainless with a silicone sleeve — is a high-retention promotional product that sees multiple uses per day. Price point $10–$25 depending on quality and materials.

Plastic reusable bottles are the volume option — lighter, cheaper, and more colourful. Popular for sporting events, school events, and high-volume giveaways where cost per unit matters more than premium feel. Quality varies enormously. Look for BPA-free materials and avoid the cheapest tier — they look promotional and get treated as disposable despite being "reusable."

Aluminium bottles sit between plastic and stainless — lighter than stainless, more premium-feeling than plastic, and available in great colours. They're single-wall (not insulated), which limits their temperature retention, but they're a popular option for outdoor and active events.

Tumblers and stadium cups are better suited for on-site use at events than take-home promotion. Popular at sporting events and outdoor venues for cold drinks. Less useful as take-home promotional items.

Decoration options

Laser engraving is the premium standard for stainless steel and aluminium. The laser removes the surface coating to reveal the raw metal underneath, creating a permanent, tactile mark that doesn't fade. It's sophisticated and appropriate for corporate gifting and quality retail items. The limitation: it's monochrome — you get the contrast of the metal, not a colour print.

Pad printing applies ink to curved surfaces using a soft silicone pad. It handles colour and is more flexible for complex logos and designs than engraving. Used on plastic, aluminium, and some stainless products. Not as premium-feeling as engraving but more versatile for multi-colour artwork.

Full-colour digital print is available on some drinkware products and allows maximum colour and detail. Often used on plastic bottles with a wrap-around print area.

Screen printing is less common on drinkware given the curved surface but is used on some flat-sided products and on the silicone sleeves of keep cups.

Minimum quantities and lead times

Branded drinkware typically requires a minimum order of 25–50 units depending on the supplier and product type. Laser engraving and pad printing have setup costs similar to other decoration methods — these are amortised across the run, so larger quantities bring down the per-unit cost.

Lead times: 10–15 business days from artwork approval for most standard drinkware. Allow extra time for premium stainless products which may have longer production windows, especially if stock needs to be sourced.

What to order for different event types

  • Corporate conference or client gift: Insulated stainless bottle with laser engraving. Premium, practical, memorable.
  • Workplace or team event: Quality reusable coffee cup. Used every day at the desk and on the commute.
  • Community sporting event: Aluminium or plastic bottle with full-colour print. Practical for the day, lightweight to distribute.
  • School or youth event: Plastic reusable bottle in a bright colour with screen or pad print. Cost-effective and durable enough for daily use.
  • Trade show or exhibition: Insulated travel mug or keep cup. High retention, visible at the desk.
